It started around a mahjong table… and became something so much more.
For more than two decades, my focus was raising our four children and creating a home where friends and family always felt welcome. Building community around a kitchen table came naturally long before I ever taught my first mahjong lesson.
As that season of life began to change, I discovered a love for mahjong and the friendships it created. What started as a simple hobby quickly grew into something bigger — and before I knew it, I was dreaming about creating a space of my own.
The more I taught, the more I realized the game wasn't the reason women kept showing up. The real magic happened between the hands — in the conversations, laughter, encouragement, and friendships forming around the table.
This is where
The Social Parlor
came to life.
Today, The Social Parlor is the realization of a dream I never saw coming. After spending more than two decades focused on raising our family, I never imagined I'd be opening a gathering space of my own. It's a place designed for gathering, celebrating, learning, and connecting — where every guest feels welcome, every detail feels intentional, and every visit feels a little like coming home.
